Soldier boy

…and here are some words on Tom Hardy from McG (who is quite enamoured with Tom, I’d say. Then again, who isn’t?)

You mentioned rolling with the punches, who was better at the action stuff? Mr. Hardy or Mr. Pine?

McG: Well, they’re both very accomplished and very different. Pine, his action training is a function of “Star Trek,” and in a larger than life cinematic expression Hardy is a killer. I suspect Hardy has killed a few people. He could be a very proficient soldier, and dare I say, he has dreams of being a soldier, letting go of acting, and just immersing himself in a world of combat. It just speaks to him, that’s where he’s comfortable, those are the characters he’s drawn to playing, and his brand of action is so brutal. You’re going to see it in the Tuck character. He’s very focused on doing it properly and being incredible, so he can look people in SAS or the Secret Service or the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines with a straight face and say, “I wanted to respect what you guys are all about.”
