Here’s his response, which doesn’t appear in this week’s published Q&A: No disrespect, man, but I find it very hard to accept the best of anything. I don’t see how one can judge [actors’] performances in a year down to four and say, “This one is the best.” I don’t think that’s even possible, so I don’t understand the concept of awards. Love being nominated for them [Laughs], love winning them. But I don’t really get them. Awards, I think, are specifically used for an industry base to build money, and for peers to celebrate peers, but within the industry to create viable business commodities. I don’t think it has everything to do with talent. It’s not like you ran the Olympics and came in at this speed or broke the world record. There are hundreds of brilliant actors out there, and everyone of them deserves a medal or some kind of ribbon or a sash. I suppose that’s what good reviews are.   High-res
