According to this article the script to The Dark Knight Rises is 250 pages long, and while Christian Bale claims to have read it in one day, Tom Hardy - who says he doesn’t like to read - said yes to playing Bane, without reading the script at all…

(The article is about the fact that, for reasons of secrecy, a lot of directors, like Nolan, don’t want to give anyone their script until the very last minute, and then not for long.)
