The Tom Hardy adventures never end! First Siberia, then Afghanistan and now he’s apparently going to Congo (to travel on the river, it seems) for a documentary. Where does he find the energy? Amazing.
BATMAN baddie Tom Hardy will swap Gotham City for the Congo. The actor, who plays evil Bane in the blockbuster movie, has signed up to front a new two-part ITV1 documentary called Tom Hardy’s Congo Adventure. Tom’s tough-guy image will be tested to the limits when he is given a warts-and-all look at one of the most dangerous places on the planet.
He will be sent into the depths of the African rainforest and travel on the Congo, the deepest river in the world. The 34-year-old will come face to face with some of the people who live in this forgotten part of Africa.
A show insider said: “This is going to be a tough expedition. It won’t be some five-star jolly. We want to get to the heart of the Congo and understand the region.“Maybe he should bring Bane’s mask to scare away some of the local wildlife.”
Bosses are thrilled they have managed to sign up the Hollywood star. They believe that following his huge success in the Batman movie, telly fans will be fascinated to find out more about the man behind the mask. The documentary, due to be screened next May, will give viewers a unique look at Tom, who usually shuns the limelight.
Our source added: “He’s huge right now and to have him on ITV1 is amazing.“We are thrilled he’s taking on this adventure.”
