I can’t stop thinking about Lawless! Or rather, I can’t stop thinking about Forrest and his grunting and his amazingly beautiful face, and his cigar, and his terrific hat he knows just how to wear, and his too big cardigans. How he’s violent and brutal, but also wears an apron and cares for his family and is intensely loyal and a true survivor. How he’s a myth onto himself.
You’re going to LOVE Forrest, believe me.
Actually, this film COULD be very successful, if people understand how entertaining and funny it is. I think one reason (apart from difference in personal tastes, of course) some reviewers didn’t like it after seeing it in Cannes, was that they maybe expected something more serious. But if you see it as just a terrific story, with amazing actors (yes, even Shia LaBeouf!) and lovable characters, it’s fantastic.
Answers to a couple of questions I’ve got: I saw this here in Sweden at a free preview screening, thanks to a local film festival. Yay for them!
Secondly, yes, there is some nudity, Jessica Chastain is naked, but only for a few seconds. I’ll say no more so I won’t spoil anyone.
Damn, I can’t WAIT to see this again. Forrest is one of my favourite Tom-characters now. Along with Stuart, Ricki and Eames. :)
