I just realised something: this photo is without a doubt by Andrea Vecchiato! In fact, it was a part of the exhibition “The sitter not the artist” at Soho Gallery in London, Oct 2010. You can read more about that exhibition here.
I’d always assumed it was one of those other naked photos Andrea has taken of Tom which was exhibited. Not a completely different one! I realised the photo above was the one used when I read this paragraph:
“Last year we photographed naked men, including Dominic Cooper and Tom Hardy,” says organiser Katz. “We hung some of the men’s photographs, including one of Tom Parker Bowles, in the ladies loo.”
I can’t believe it took TWO YEARS for a fan of Tom’s to find that photo. A life-sized, naked Tom Hardy! Imagine if this exhibition had been done today? There would have been a stampede.
