Tom Hardy on the set of Reckoning.

All these set photos are so wonderfully absurd: the period costume with fake breasts, the make-up, the sneakers, the British boxers, the cigarette. And most of all, the look on Tom’s face like all this is the most natural thing in the world.

On the set of The Reckoning, yes? Quite adorable. :D

This still from Reckoning is always worth coming back to, isn’t it? My other excuse is that it’s a bigger version than before. :)

It really is truly amazing how incredibly seductive Tom is in this scene, the strange get-up be damned. The boy he’s ‘seducing’ looks completely entranced.

I love Handsome Bob, but this is probably the most homoerotic thing Tom’s ever done. So far.

This film was shot at the end of 2000, when Tom had just turned 22. I do wonder if he was a bit of a menace to work with those days, those ‘darker years’ as he called them. He must have been extremely hyper and intense and out of control.

And awfully pretty. Even in the most ridiculous costumes.

satisfied-mind asked: Tom slapped Paul Bettany? I haven't heard this before.... What happened?

The slap was mentioned in an interview Vincent Cassel did with Tom in the French edition of Premiere (which you can read here). Most intriguing and far too few details:

VC: You’ll be brilliant in Mad Max. Mel Gibson can go to hell. (laughs) Are you allowed to talk about under which circumstances we met and how that anecdote involves Paul Bettany during the filming of The Reckoning?

TH: Go ahead! Don’t be afraid to incriminate me! It was my first part in a feature film, actually.  Before, I’d only done the tv show Band of Brothers.

VC: So, would you advise someone who’s shooting their first movie, to take a swing at the lead actor because he’s saying bad things about you?

TH: I didn’t hit him, I slapped him. I didn’t want to leave a mark on his face.

VC: Good thinking. (laughs)

I can’t stop wondering about how Tom slapped Paul Bettany during the shooting of this film. Maybe PB got confused because Tom is such a pretty girl and got just a little bit too close? *SLAP*

That’s why Tom now sticks to MIME-boxing with his co-stars instead.

He’s quite pretty as a medieval boy too. :)

Who here is surprised that one of Tom’s first film roles was a girl-actor?

With those rosy cheeks and luscious lips? I’m not. He’s certainly prettier than most girls. ♥

Tom is such a pretty, pretty lady.

And so I’ve decided to make some caps from The Reckoning. :)
